The Church exists to teach the religious and spiritual practices of the Yawanawa people of Brazil.
We hold faith in the belief that the Yawanawa religious and spiritual practices establishes a connection with Nukesheni, the creator of all life.
The Church’s purpose is to facilitate traditional Yawanawa religious ceremonies for members under the supervision of the Yawanawa traditions, especially for veterans and first responders, and to support the Yawanawa through service projects in the village of Mutum.
Matsini Yawanawa is the current living Paje’ of the village of Mutum who holds the spiritual knowledge of the Yawanawa ancestors.
James “Shuhunawa” Martin is Matsini’s student and the spiritual leader of the Church.
